This is our monthly roundup of what we have been up to at Buckley Williams. Also available as a TinyLetter.
What have we been up to since last time?
In brief, we:
- Ran a Making Things on the Web workshop with Doteveryone, building retro geocities-style websites using Git and modern CSS & HTML.
- Made our own design card deck. Eventually, every design studio makes a card deck.
- Spoke at Alterconf about quitting a job and starting a small business.
- Experimented with tools for personal air quality monitoring.
- Tested the experience of Ikea’s new smart lightbulbs, and looked at how it protects users from cloudbricking by running everything locally, instead of having an online service.
- Gave a photo slideshow at Debcon of a recent research trip to the US National Radio Quiet Zone.
- Started a secret (for now) collaboration on an installation for a museum.
- Ran a co-invention workshop to discover new digital products to complement an organisation’s current offline products. And are now building one of the products.
- Continued mentoring leaders in developing their digital skills.
Finally, we have some availability from mid-July onwards. We’d love to hear from you if you’re looking for a digital consultancy to collaborate, explore and create software with.
